Where is TCPedia?

Friday, February 5th, 2010

TCPedia (the Twin Cities Encyclopedia) was the main ‘encylopedia’ project from 2007 to 2009, later on TCPedia was retired as it gave rise to (evolved into) the Insiders Encyclopedia project. I learned many lessons from TCPedia that were all incorporated into InsidersPedia, especially keeping things simple, streamlined and staying true to it’s main vision.

I apologies for any inconvenience you endured due to the shutting down of TCPedia. In reality, TCPedia did not go away, it got streamlined and went nation-wide and is now known as InsidersPedia, InsidersPedia can reach more people, and is much easier to use! It is also true to it’s original vision, being a local encyclopedia written by people for the people.

TCPedia was intended to be a community encyclopedia but got expanded and hosted many other services. It allowed you to publish events in a calendar of events, classified ads and also publishing members’ works (including art work, and written articles).

InsidersPedia keeps true to it’s vision of only hosts encyclopedia Pages, just as an encyclopedia should. It is streamlined and simple to use. InsidersPedia is also a nation-wide service reaching millions of people.

Thank you for your feedback!!

I’d like to seize this opportunity to thank all of you who provided feedback and improvement ideas. I have taken so many of your ideas into consideration, this proved especially helpful in streamlining the user experience, keeping things as clear and as simple as possible.  Now more than ever using InsidersPedia is easier and intuitive.

The Minnesota Portal and pages are the ones I implemented your suggestions on.  Soon, I will upgrade the California Portal and pages.

As the website gains a wider user base, we are seeing a steady increase in Encyclopedia Pages and Insiders! After all, InsidersPedia is for you and by you. If you did not make use of the InsidersPedia project, this project will have no reason to exist.

Your feedback and continued patronage are greatly appreciated.

Let me tell you, Insiders (you know who you are), you are COOL BEANS!

Love and Peace
Ethan Z.

Minnesota Portal Launched

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

The Minnsota Portal beta release is available for all to use.

When Insiders’ Pedia came alive on 6/6/2009 as a Beta release project it came with one state completed and ready to go. Since I live in Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes — and 1,000,000 mosquitoes, I had the Minnesota Portal page ready, you can call it the Minnesota Portal page or the Minnesota Map page if you wish.

The Minnesota Portal page is where you can select one of seven geographical Regions from within the state of Minnesota, then proceed to that Site’s (region’s) page which is a virtual online community for a specific geographical region, browse the encyclopedia listings, or simply add an encyclopedia page.

Find the Minnesota Portal along with a map in the Minnesota page here
